LIVE ON!

Organ donation is a noble cause & everytime it is spoken about it gives me goosebumps!

I always believed that it is important to be an organ donor. What are the procedures? What are the live donations that are possible? What is cadaver donation & how do you take it forward when you have a choice? Did you know that organs cannot be harvested in case of death at home because even the slightest time lag between the end of circulation & the removal of the organ can make it unusable?

All these & more were what Dr. Sudarshan Ballal, Medical Director Manipal Hospitals & Eminent Nephrologist of Bangalore city, answered in the first episode of this health series on 101.3 F.M. Rainbow on the Health Hour starting 1st October at 6.02p.m. The second episode is happening on the alternate week on 15th October in English. If you love Kannada, tune in tonight at 8p.m on Saukya Sutra with Dr.Vishawanath, consultant Nephrologist on 101.3 F.M.Rainbow.

You can listen in to Dr. Ballal on this link.

You can post your questions too, which he will answer either on 15th October or the 29th when he will be back on air.

Enjoy listening & Decide to be a LIFELINE to continue to LIVE ON.

Cheers!

Rashmi

Don't think of organ Donation as giving up a part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It is really a total stranger giving up all of himself to keep a part of YOU alive.
